A fully-funded PhD scholarship opportunity is available at the University of Western Australia (UWA) School of Molecular Sciences, supervised by ARC DECRA Fellow and postdoctoral researcher Xuyen Le. The project is part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology, focusing on plant mitochondrial pyruvate transport and metabolism. The research aims to uncover the mechanisms regulating mitochondrial substrate transport and metabolism, and their effects on plant respiration, energy production, and stress response. This work will contribute to understanding how mitochondrial processes influence whole-plant performance, with the broader goal of optimizing plant energy use efficiency to increase crop yield and resistance.
