The project centers on developing and applying coarse-grained computer simulations and continuum theory to investigate the physics of remodeling and growth in cellular fluid lipid membranes, with a particular focus on the effects of curvature and deformation on the stability of double membrane systems such as the nuclear envelope. Collaboration with experimental biophysics and cell biology colleagues is expected, providing a rich interdisciplinary environment.

The position is supervised by Dr. Felix Frey and is embedded in a dynamic, international research setting. The university offers a four-year full-time contract, with an intermediate assessment after nine months. The role includes teaching responsibilities (10-15% of time annually), and provides a competitive salary (scale P: €3,059 - €3,881 per month), year-end bonus, vacation pay, pension scheme, and additional benefits such as commuting and internet cost allowances.
