PhD applications are invited for the CMES group in the Mehta Family School of Sustainability at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore). The group is led by Abhishek Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, and works at the intersection of computational science, molecular modeling, electrochemistry, materials science, and sustainability.

Research directions include high-entropy electrolytes for next-generation energy storage, sustainable materials discovery using MD, DFT, and machine learning, interfacial electrochemistry, and water desalination. The group also highlights access to advanced HPC and GPU workstations, interdisciplinary training, and international collaborations in Denmark, the USA, and Japan.

Eligibility: applicants should have an MSc or MTech with First Division in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. A valid GATE, CSIR-UGC-JRF, DBT-JRF, or DST-INSPIRE fellowship is mandatory.
