This opening is for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join an interdisciplinary research team at the Department of Medicine II. The project focuses on next-generation CAR-based immunotherapies for B-cell leukemia in the context of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT). The research aims to improve graft-versus-leukemia effects while reducing graft-versus-host disease through innovative cellular engineering and immunotherapeutic strategies.

The position offers research training in translational immunology, immunotherapy, cell biology, and related biomedical methods. Techniques mentioned include CAR engineering, CRISPR/Cas9, flow cytometry, advanced microscopy, and single-cell RNA sequencing. The candidate will be integrated into an IZKF- and DFG-funded collaborative environment and enrolled in the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) at the University of Würzburg.
