About this position

PhD opportunity in computational biomechanics and AI-driven modeling with PrediTwins Lab in France. The project focuses on predictive computational models of soft biological tissues, including multiscale and multiphysics behavior, continuum mechanics, constitutive modeling, finite element implementation, numerical simulation, and hybrid physics-AI methods such as physics-informed learning and model reduction.

The work sits at the interface of mechanics, data science, and biomedical engineering, with applications in healthcare, sports science, and biomedical engineering. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary environment with academic and industrial interaction, and the project is linked to the development of biomechanical digital twins.

Eligibility: applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a Master’s degree in mechanics, biomechanics, or a related field. A strong background in computational mechanics, constitutive modeling, and FE methods is expected. Programming skills in Python, C++, Fortran, or similar are a strong advantage, and interest in AI-based modeling is desirable.

Application deadline: 30 April 2026 (before midday). Applicants must submit a CV, academic transcripts, a cover letter with a brief statement of research interests, and the contact details of two referees. Applications should be sent to [email protected].

Institutional context: PrediTwins Lab works on digital twins for athletic performance and injury prevention, translating biomechanics research from the lab to real-world sports applications.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
