The Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) at the University of Cologne is offering a fully funded doctoral research position in the field of information systems, with a focus on digital innovation and responsible AI. The position provides an opportunity to work in a strong, international research environment, collaborating with leading universities and companies. Research topics include the application of state-of-the-art methods from information systems, such as qualitative and quantitative approaches and computationally intensive methods, to real-world problems in digital innovation and responsible artificial intelligence.

Applicants should hold a Master's degree in information systems, computer science, economics, management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high motivation, commitment, and enjoyment in tackling challenging questions, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills. Fluency in both German and English is required.

The position is available from March 1, 2026, on a full-time basis (39.83 hours per week) and is fixed-term until February 28, 2029. The salary is based on the German public sector pay scale (group 13 TV-L).
