The International Helmholtz Research School for Nanoelectronic Networks (IHRS NanoNet) at the University of Dresden offers a highly interdisciplinary PhD programme in the field of molecular electronics. The three-year PhD programme focuses on developing the electronics of the future by integrating molecular synthesis, electrical contacting of nanoscale electronics, and atomistic-level modelling. Applicants must hold or be about to earn a Master's degree (or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or materials science. Proof of English proficiency is required unless English is the applicant's mother tongue or the official language of instruction at their previous institution. Acceptable certificates include TOEFL, Cambridge Assessment English, or IELTS.

Tuition fees are not charged, and the semester contribution is approximately 290 EUR (not mandatory). Living costs are estimated at 1,000 EUR per month. While scholarships are not available during the current academic year, funding opportunities within the university may exist. The IHRS NanoNet provides structured research and supervision, research training, and career advisory services through the HZDR Career Center for Doctoral Researchers and Postdocs.
