PhD Position in Soil Biodiversity and Sustainable Tree Cultivation NIOO-KNAW in Netherlands

The Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) is offering a fully funded PhD position within the SolidTree project, focusing on the role of soil biodiversity in sustainable tree cultivation. The research aims to understand how soil life can be managed to promote sustainable soil management practices, contributing to ecological and agricultural advancements. The position is supervised by Ciska Veen, Head of Department Terrestrial Ecology at NIOO-KNAW, and is affiliated with the University of Groningen.

Applicants should hold a relevant MSc degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, agriculture, or a related discipline. A strong interest in soil biodiversity and sustainable management is essential. Experience with ecological research methods, data analysis, and good communication skills are preferred. Proficiency in English is required.
