The position is linked to the Organic Chemistry / SF Kirsch research group and involves developing novel systems for sustainable catalysis, linking solid-phase chemistry with flow chemistry, studying synthetic chemistry such as design and synthesis of organocatalysts and organometallic complexes, and optimizing catalytic reactions and processes. The role also includes analysis and characterization of compounds and materials using methods such as NMR and MS, plus teaching duties in Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.

This is a doctoral research assistant position with a fixed-term contract of up to 3 years, part-time at 50% of the collectively agreed working time, salary level E 13 TV-L. The post is intended to support completion of a doctorate within the legal time limits.

Eligibility highlights include a completed master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related field, strong motivation and scientific excellence, practical experience in organic synthesis and air-sensitive chemistry, experience with modern analytical characterization methods, and good English skills. German is advantageous.
