About this position

Professor Hang Ta at Griffith University is seeking outstanding PhD candidates for newly funded research projects supported by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Successful candidates will be based at Griffith University’s Nathan campus in Brisbane, Australia.

The advertised projects sit in interdisciplinary biomedical engineering and related fields, with a strong emphasis on nanomaterials, molecular imaging, drug delivery systems, and organ-on-a-chip technologies. Project 1 focuses on responsive imaging and drug delivery systems, with desired experience in nanomaterial synthesis and characterisation, cell-based assays, fluorescence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and animal handling. Project 2 focuses on organ-on-a-chip platforms, with desired experience in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, microfluidics, biochemistry, and molecular biology.

Applicants are expected to have an excellent academic record, reflected by a high GPA, and preferably a strong publication track record, including first-author publications. Eligibility requires either an Honours degree or a Master’s degree. The post also requests an IELTS certificate as part of the application materials.

Funding is described as newly funded through ARC and NHMRC research support. The post does not specify stipend amount, tuition coverage, or a formal deadline.

To apply, prepare a CV with publication list, academic transcript(s), and IELTS certificate, then email the materials to [email protected]. More information about the research group is available on the group website and the professor’s Griffith profile.
