About this position

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Sweden, is inviting applications for four fully-funded PhD positions in Business Administration. These positions offer a unique opportunity to join a thriving international research environment at one of Europe's top-ranked business schools. JIBS is renowned for its focus on entrepreneurship, ownership, renewal, and its triple crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA).

The research areas for these PhD positions include entrepreneurship, ownership, renewal, new technologies, media and societal impact, family business governance and strategy, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and the entrepreneurial life cycle. Candidates are expected to align their research interests with one or more of JIBS' interdisciplinary research centres: Media, Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC), Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO), and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Spatial Economics (CEnSE).

The positions are fully financed, with competitive full-time salaries. Doctoral students will devote 80% of their time to coursework and thesis research, and 20% to teaching and administrative tasks. The school offers a supportive environment for personal and professional development, with opportunities to enhance teaching skills and engage in impactful research.

Applicants must hold (or be close to completing) a Master’s degree and have at least 90 ECTS in Business Administration. A total of 240 ECTS credits is required, with at least 60 at the Master’s level. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. The application package must include a letter of intent, preliminary research proposal (max 3000 words), CV, academic transcripts and diplomas, Master thesis or summary, and references. Selection is based on academic qualifications, research potential, quality of application documents, and fit with JIBS research centres and culture.

The application deadline is May 15, 2026, with the start date on September 1, 2026 (or as agreed). For more information and to apply, visit the official job posting. Contact persons include Mart Ots, Helena Holmström ([email protected]), and Thomas Cyron.
