The Moini Lab at Princeton University, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is seeking Ph.D. candidates for Fall 2026. Research areas include computational fracture mechanics of brittle and composite materials, architecture materials by design and statistical mechanics, and robotics (additive) manufacturing with a focus on control, planning, and sensing. The lab offers a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with access to state-of-the-art materials and additive manufacturing laboratories.

Candidates with backgrounds in civil, mechanical, or material science, or those with expertise in experimental, analytical, or computational methods, are encouraged to apply. The research group is part of the Civil and Environmental Engineering department, which maintains a low student-faculty ratio and emphasizes close interaction between students and advisers. The Ph.D. program is fully funded, with all admitted students receiving a first-year fellowship and consideration for additional prestigious fellowships. The program typically lasts five years and includes coursework, a general examination, and dissertation research.
