Dr. Alice Alipour is recruiting PhD students for her research group in the ISU Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University. The group focuses on infrastructure reliability and resilience under extreme events, as well as performance-based design of structures. Research activities include the development and application of probabilistic methods to evaluate safety and reliability, use of machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, investigation of performance measures at both component and network levels, and enhancement of resilience considering infrastructure interdependencies.

Preferred candidates will have a Master of Science in Structural Engineering or a closely related field, strong analytical and computational skills, and familiarity with coding languages such as Python or MATLAB.
