Queen's University is seeking two highly motivated PhD students to join an interdisciplinary research program led by Associate Professor Cao Thang Dinh. The research focuses on sustainable electrochemical technologies, including electrochemical synthesis and materials recycling, with the goal of developing low-carbon solutions for materials recovery and circular economy applications. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in advancing the fields of electrochemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering while contributing to sustainability and environmental science.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Additional requirements include an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher (or equivalent English proficiency), a minimum GPA of 8.0/10 (or equivalent) for both Bachelor and MSc degrees, and strong foundational knowledge in electrochemistry, materials synthesis and characterization, or chemical processes. Preferred candidates will demonstrate self-motivation, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, an interest in experimental research and sustainability, problem-solving skills, willingness to collaborate, and prior research experience such as undergraduate research or an MSc thesis.
