About this position
Technische Universität Berlin is advertising two Research Assistant / PhD candidate positions at the Chair of High-Frequency Technologies/Photonics in the Faculty IV of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
The project sits at the interface of microwave photonics, optical communication systems, photonic integrated circuits, antenna design, RF/MMIC technologies, numerical simulation, and experimental lab work. Successful candidates will contribute to current research projects and may also support teaching and practical laboratory courses.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree, Diplom, or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, optics/photonics, physics, or a closely related field. The posting also asks for the ability to teach in German and/or English, with willingness to acquire missing language skills. Strong experience in one or more of the following is a plus: microwave photonics or optical communications experiments, cleanroom nanofabrication, numerical simulation (Python, Octave, Matlab), microwave engineering and antenna design, photonic integrated circuit design/fabrication/testing, or analog integrated circuit / MMIC / RFIC design.
Funding: the positions are full-time, funded for 5 years, and paid at E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen. Part-time employment may be possible.
