??I’m absolutely delighted to be launching this PhD Scholarship investigating #acl injury in Women and Girls in partnership with Edith Cowan University We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is keen to collaborate with me and World Leading supervisors Sophia Nimphius Myles Murphy Jay Ebert Peter Edwards as we embark on a journey to reduce the rate of ACL injury and re-injury, improve post surgical outcomes and increase return to sport rates for Women and Girls. This study will explore the experiences of women and girls who have had an ACL injury; investigating access to training, facilities, professional S+C and time in sport. We will investigate surgical, radiological and rehab-related factors that affect re-injury and readiness to return to sport after #aclreconstruction surgery. ??The role of formal strength and conditioning both before and after ACL injury is a key focus of our study, as we aim to improve strength and motor control and develop a comprehensive yet individualised approach to rehabilitation.?? Together we will work towards our goal of equalising the playing field for our women athletes, providing the best possible chance of avoiding injury and re-injury, and getting them back in the game at the highest level!
