Applicants should hold a degree qualifying them for PhD enrollment (such as MSc, Master 2 de Recherche, or equivalent) in earth science, environmental sciences, biology, or chemistry. Experience in trace metal analysis and/or spectroscopic methods is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in English is required, as it is the working language at ESRF. Successful candidates will be enrolled in the University Grenoble Alpes Doctoral School as a condition of employment.

The position offers a contract of two years, renewable for one additional year, and includes a competitive compensation and allowances package. Financial support for relocation to Grenoble is provided, ensuring a smooth transition to the heart of the Alps and Europe's Green Capital 2022.
