PhD Student Position in LiFi Systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – Pervasive Wireless Systems Group IMDEA Networks Institute in Spain

The IMDEA Networks Institute’s Pervasive Wireless Systems Group, led by Dr Domenico Giustiniano, is offering a fully funded PhD student position focused on LiFi (Visible Light Communication) systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. This opportunity is based in Leganés, Madrid, Spain, and is part of a research project funded by MCIN/AEI and ESF+ under the aid package PID2022-136769NB-I00.

The research will center on understanding, designing, and experimentally testing novel LiFi systems for aerial scenarios. As a member of the group, you will engage in cutting-edge system research, participate in international projects, and experimentally verify innovative ideas and concepts. The Pervasive Wireless Systems Group is renowned for its work in wireless communications and offers access to advanced experimental platforms.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Essential qualifications include a strong grasp of wireless communications fundamentals and advanced coding skills in Matlab, C/C++, and Python. English proficiency is required, as it is the working language of the group.
