The Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery at Imperial College London is offering a fully funded 3.5-year PhD studentship, supported by the Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center Ltd. The project focuses on developing an innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Co-Pilot platform to provide real-time cognitive assistance and intelligent guidance for surgeons during robotic surgery. This research will advance cutting-edge computer vision and AI techniques for intra-operative guidance in safety-critical surgical contexts, aiming to reshape healthcare through technological innovation.

The primary supervisor for this studentship is Stamatia (Matina) Giannarou. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team at the intersection of robotic surgery, AI, and medical imaging, working within the renowned Hamlyn Centre and the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London.
