About this position

My laboratory at EPFL is looking to hire a Ph.D. student to work on acoustic micro-manipulation by wave-momentum shaping. The project aims at using shaped ultrasounds to move small objects under a microscope, and builds upon our recent Nature Physics study ( https://lnkd.in/eMAdDxcC ), in which we demonstrated the concept on macroscopic objects with audible sound.

Details on the position are available here: https://lnkd.in/guafFR8s
An important aspect for us is a strong motivation to do experimental work, possibly in EPFL clean rooms, combined with a sufficient taste for physics to be able to grasp the essentials of the theory. The project is dominantly experimental.

Interested candidates can e-mail me with their CV and a motivation letters. To be hired, candidates will need to apply and be accepted by EPFL doctoral school.
