About this position
The Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) at Ecole Polytechnique, part of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is offering a postdoctoral position in behavioral and experimental economics as part of the ERC-funded PROSPECT project led by Dr. Yves Le Yaouanq. This project aims to advance understanding of belief biases and their economic implications, focusing on how individuals process information and form beliefs rationally. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team and contribute to producing new experimental evidence in this field.
The position is based at CREST in Palaiseau, France, with most work conducted on-site, though remote work is possible on selected days. The contract is temporary, full-time (38.5 hours per week), and can last one or two years, starting between September and December 2026. The role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including 25 days' vacation, 18 days' RTT, 75% reimbursement of transportation costs, access to health services (physiotherapist, osteopath, on-site medical service), sports facilities, and participation in the Harmonie Mutuelle health insurance plan. Additional amenities include a company restaurant, library, and various services on campus.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics or equivalent, with a strong quantitative background and expertise in experimental and behavioral economics, ideally including theory. Coding proficiency in Python and/or PhP, SQL, Stata or R is required. Fluency in English is essential, while French language skills are advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should have 4–10 years of research experience in microeconomics. Application materials must include a cover letter, CV, job market paper, and at least two reference letters.
Applications should be submitted via the EconJobMarket website (https://econjobmarket.org/positions/12298). The selection process includes online interviews starting in early February 2026. For further details, visit the CREST website (https://crest.science) or the official position link (https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu//jobs/401413). For inquiries, contact Dr. Yves Le Yaouanq at [email protected].
