About this position

This postdoctoral position is offered within the Random Matrices and Random Geometry research group at the Department of Mathematics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Fredrik Viklund and engage in research on topics such as Coulomb gases, 2D random conformal geometry (including SLE theory, lattice models, and gaussian fields), conformal field theory, gauge theories, the Loewner energy, or other areas aligned with the supervisor’s interests. Eligibility and Requirements: Applicants must have a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in mathematics or a closely related field, to be completed by the time of employment. A strong background in relevant areas such as analysis, probability, mathematical physics, or geometry is essential. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are required. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree obtained within the last three years, strong motivation, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and awareness of diversity and gender equality issues. Emphasis is placed on personal skills.

Funding and Employment: The position is a full-time, temporary appointment for up to two years, with a monthly salary and benefits provided by KTH. The position is intended as a first career step after completing a dissertation and focuses mainly on research.
