The University of Luxembourg, a leading international research university, is offering a postdoctoral position in Biological, Clinical, and Health Psychology. The role is embedded within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE), which fosters interdisciplinary research across humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, and social sciences. The successful candidate will join the DEPLOY project, 'Deploying a Mobile Interoceptive Training to Reduce Somatic Symptom Distress,' funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg (FNR). The project aims to investigate interoception-based training mechanisms to reduce somatic symptom distress and translate these interventions into a mobile application.

The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Brain-Body-Interaction research group and the Clinical Psychophysiology Laboratory, led by Prof. Dr. André Schulz, within the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences. The interdisciplinary team includes André Schulz (PI), Philip Santangelo, Inès Chihi, and Jochen Klucken, spanning expertise from psychology to engineering and systems biomedicine.

Responsibilities include recruiting and assessing participants from both the general public and patients with somatic symptom disorders across five independent studies (three laboratory-based, two ambulatory using a mobile app). The candidate will conduct clinically-psychological and psychophysiological assessments, analyze data from ECG, photoplethysmography, behavioral and self-report measures, and co-develop a mobile application for interoception assessment and training. Additional duties involve supporting project administration and disseminating research findings in international peer-reviewed journals.

Applicants should have a strong research profile with internationally recognized expertise in stress, interoception, and mental disorders involving somatic symptoms. Experience in psychological assessment, structured clinical interviews, psychophysiological measurement techniques, ambulatory assessment, and digital/mobile health technologies is highly valued. Fluency in English and German or French is required.
