About this position

Postdoctoral position at Aarhus University in DNA/RNA nanotechnology and cell regulation, hosted by the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) / Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. The project is part of the ERC-funded BioRIcON initiative and focuses on nucleic-acid-based artificial motors and devices for precise control of cellular processes.

The research sits at the interface of nucleic acid chemistry, DNA/RNA nanotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, nanoscience, and cell biology. The postdoc will work on the design and assembly of nucleic-acid interlocked motors and switches, their operation in vitro and in cellular settings, and their use for reversible control of cell function with potential biomedical applications.

Ideal applicants hold a PhD in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, nanoscience, nanotechnology, medicinal chemistry, or a related area. Required experience includes nucleic acid chemistry and/or DNA/RNA nanotechnology. Strong advantages include experience with cell assays, cell biology, single-molecule microscopy (EM, TIRF, AFM), aptamer development, flow cytometry, binding assays, and confocal microscopy. English proficiency is required.

The position is a 2-year fixed-term, full-time postdoc starting 1 June 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The application deadline is 12 April 2026 at 23:59 CEST. Aarhus University offers access to excellent research infrastructure, core facilities, an interdisciplinary environment, and support services for international researchers.

Apply via Aarhus University’s recruitment system and include the requested documents in English. Contact Assistant Professor Julián Valero Moreno for questions about the position, or Nat-Tech HR for application-related questions.
