About this position

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Initiative for Vaccines and Immunity (NIVI) at the University of Copenhagen is advertising a postdoctoral position focused on lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation, high-throughput screening, automation, upscaling, targeting, immunoassays, and organoids.

The center is a mission-driven research environment in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology, working to accelerate vaccine development in Denmark and to improve understanding of airway immunity and vaccine delivery technologies. The post is especially relevant for researchers interested in mRNA delivery, nanoparticle characterization, mucosal immunity, respiratory delivery, and translational vaccine research.

Three scientific profiles are described: (1) a specialist in LNP barcoding, high-throughput screening, NGS, DOE, automation, and data modeling; (2) an immunological assays and mucosal delivery specialist with experience in flow cytometry, ELISA, cytokine profiling, airway delivery, and organoids; and (3) a nanoparticle formulation and characterization specialist with experience in lipid synthesis, analytical methods, upscaling, and quality control.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field such as molecular biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, chemistry, immunology, or respiratory biology, with profile-specific experience requirements. The role also values strong documentation, teamwork, communication, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

The appointment is fixed-term for 4 years, with 37 hours per week. Salary, pension, and employment conditions follow the Danish AC agreement, and the employer contributes an additional 18.07% to the pension fund. The starting date is 1 September or after agreement.

Interested candidates should apply via the official Talentech application portal linked in the post.
