About this position
Wageningen University & Research is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for an interdisciplinary project focused on strengthening One Health governance. The position is embedded in the Health & Society (HSO) Group, with collaboration from the Law Group, and centers on the intersection of public health, sociology, law, policy, and environmental science. The research aims to improve governance and regulatory frameworks for controlling zoonotic and antimicrobial diseases, with a special focus on biocide regulation and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in various country settings.
The postdoc will contribute to the BIORESIST project by evaluating biocide regulations and to the ERRAZE project by testing and expanding a One Health policy screening tool. Responsibilities include policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, advising national governments, mapping governance gaps, and co-creating roadmaps for improved surveillance and societal resilience. The role requires strong mixed-methods research skills, experience in regulatory and governance analysis, and the ability to work across disciplines and with international partners.
Applicants must hold a PhD in public health, public policy, sociology, development studies, law, or a related field, with expertise in human, animal, or environmental health. Candidates should be based in the Netherlands, fluent in English (C1), and have a track record of scientific publications. The position offers a competitive salary (€3546–€6433/month, 0.7 FTE), excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional development. The initial contract is for one year, extendable by 14 months based on performance (up to 26 months total). International candidates receive support with visa procedures and may be eligible for tax exemptions.
To apply, submit a cover letter, CV with references, and a sample of written work via the Wageningen University & Research website by 12 April 2026. For more information, contact Prof. Spencer Moore at [email protected].
