Postdoc in Plant Natural Product Biosynthesis or Transport at University of Copenhagen University of Copenhagen in Denmark

The Geu-Flores lab at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join their team in the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences. The position focuses on the biosynthesis and transport of plant natural products, particularly bioactive alkaloids with pharmaceutical and stimulant properties. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with groups specializing in transport work, metabolite imaging, and spatial transcriptomics.

Applicants should have a strong background in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology, with hands-on experience in natural product synthesis, pathway discovery, or metabolite transport. The research will involve uncovering complex biosynthetic pathways and transport processes in plants, contributing to the understanding of how plants produce valuable molecules such as drugs, nutraceuticals, colorants, and fragrances.

The Geu-Flores group combines expertise in chemistry with advanced technologies to explore the chemical secrets of plants. The group currently includes one postdoc, three PhD students, and a research assistant, and is part of the Section for Plant Biochemistry, which hosts several research groups working on plant natural product biosynthesis. The department offers a collaborative and supportive environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a network of international collaborators.

The position is a fixed-term, full-time postdoc for two years, with employment terms governed by Danish academic staff agreements. Salary supplement negotiation is possible.
