About this position
The Division of Robotics, Perception and Learning at KTH Royal Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Safe Robot Planning. This research-focused role centers on the development and evaluation of autonomous planning and control strategies to advance safe robot autonomy, with a special emphasis on human-robot interaction and diver-robot collaborative scenarios in underwater environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers working on space and underwater robotics within the WASP NEST project Discower, contributing to interdisciplinary research efforts.
While teaching master-level and PhD-level classes in safe autonomy and robot planning is encouraged, it is not required. The postdoc may also supervise master students, further enhancing their academic experience. KTH offers a creative and dynamic environment, with excellent working conditions, attractive benefits, and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and equal opportunities.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree, completed by the time of employment. Required research expertise includes at least one of the following: formal methods in robotics, multi-agent systems, motion planning, or human-robot interaction. Preferred qualifications are a doctoral degree obtained within the last three years, publications in top-tier robotics venues (such as IEEE T-RO, IJRR, RSS, CORL, ICRA, IROS, or HRI), experience with robot integration, ROS, Python, project leadership and management abilities, and teaching skills. Candidates should demonstrate collaborative and independent research abilities, awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, and strong personal skills. Security clearance may be required for certain positions.
The position is a full-time, temporary appointment for up to two years, with a monthly salary and benefits. The application deadline is March 31, 2026. To apply, candidates must log into KTH's recruitment system and submit a complete application, including CV, diplomas and grades, translations if necessary, and a brief account of research interests and goals.
