Postdoc in Trustworthy Machine Learning and Transfer Learning at ISTA Institute of Science and Technology Austria in Austria

Christoph Lampert, Professor for Machine Learning and Computer Vision at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), is hiring postdoctoral researchers in Trustworthy Machine Learning and Transfer Learning.

The position is based in the Machine Learning and Computer Vision Group at ISTA in Austria. Research topics mentioned include privacy, fairness, robustness, federated learning, LLM security, transfer/continual/meta learning, multi-task learning, domain adaptation, lifelong learning, and the interface between symbolic AI and statistical machine learning.

This is a postdoc opening with 100% research, no teaching or administrative duties. The appointment is for one or two years, with a very competitive salary and possible extensions. The group also highlights generous funding for equipment and conference travel.

Applicants should have a PhD in machine learning or a related area, with a strong background in mathematics, programming, and analytic reasoning. A strong publication record is expected, and English fluency is required; German is optional.
