Postdoc, PhD, and MSc Positions in 5G, Machine Learning, and UAV Detection University of Ottawa in United States

Computational Analysis and Acceleration Research Group (CARG) at the University of Ottawa is recruiting for postdoc, PhD, and MSc positions focused on 5G communication systems, machine learning, signal processing, software-defined radio, and UAV detection.

The project aims to develop machine learning models to detect intruder UAVs that communicate through a 5G network. The work is part of a multidisciplinary effort involving scientists from the University of Ottawa, research centers, and industry partners. The broader CARG AI4UAV research program also covers counter-UAS systems, sensor fusion, payload detection, tracking, and resilient AI for drone-related applications.

Applicants should have a STEM degree obtained within the past 3 years and evidence of research productivity. Relevant research or industrial experience is expected. A good understanding of 5G communication systems and signal processing is desirable, along with strong software skills and good oral and written English.

The positions are open to applicants of any nationality, with preference given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. The opportunity remains open until suitable candidates are found.
