Description

Radboud University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive rehabilitation at the Donders Centre for Cognition, Faculty of Social Sciences, The Netherlands. This position is ideal for candidates with a PhD in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, behavioural science, or related fields, and a strong background in patient-centred research. The successful candidate will join the Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology department, supporting research lines focused on neuropsychological rehabilitation, with an emphasis on applied research. Main responsibilities include data management and analysis, co-authoring scientific papers using existing departmental and collaborative data, and presenting research findings at international conferences in neuropsychology and cognitive rehabilitation. The postdoc will also assist in supervising PhD candidates and facilitate collaborations with institutes such as the Klimmendaal Rehabilitation Centre, where research may be embedded. Ongoing projects involve digital and face-to-face cognitive strategy training for individuals with acquired brain injury or Parkinson’s disease, leveraging spared implicit learning to address executive function or memory deficits, and developing new neuropsychological tests. Applicants should demonstrate excellent writing skills through peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, or professional Dutch-language publications. Proficiency in statistical, scripting, and data analysis tools (SPSS, R, Matlab) is required, alongside strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate scientific objectives in accessible language. Clinical experience, such as internships or neuropsychological test administration, is preferred. Fluency in Dutch and English is essential for effective communication with patients and care professionals. The position offers a one-year temporary contract, with a gross monthly salary between €4,728 and €6,433, plus an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus. Additional benefits include dual career coaching for partners, extra annual leave (choice of 30 or 41 days), flexible working hours, sports and cultural discounts, and a comprehensive pension plan. Radboud University provides a supportive, inclusive, and multidisciplinary research environment, with state-of-the-art facilities such as advanced EEG, eye movement registration, fMRI, and technical support. The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, where the research is based, is internationally recognized for excellence and fosters collaboration across neuroscience, psychology, and related disciplines. The Faculty of Social Sciences focuses on human behaviour, education, communication, and culture, supporting over 6,000 students and 700 staff. Research is conducted within three institutes: the Donders Centre for Cognition, the Behavioural Science Institute, and Radboud Social Cultural Research. Applications must be submitted online via the provided link, with a letter addressed to Prof. Joukje Oosterman. The application form details required documents. Interviews begin on 11 December, and the preferred start date is as soon as possible. The application deadline is 4 December 2025.
