Rice University is recruiting postdoctoral researchers / research scientists for the Wittung-Stafshede Research Group led by Pernilla Wittung-Stafshede.

The lab works on amyloid-forming proteins, protein interactions and aggregation, protein biophysics, bioinorganic chemistry, and disease-related mechanisms in cancer and neurodegeneration. Current research themes include copper homeostasis, amyloid plaques, amyloid reactivity, metal interactions, phase separation, and the role of proteins in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

The group is specifically looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following: cryo-EM on amyloids (especially helical reconstruction), computational methods such as molecular dynamics and docking, and neuronal cell biology. The lab also uses spectroscopy, microscopy, biochemistry, cell structure approaches, and collaborative computational work.

This is a funded opening: the professor states that additional funding has been secured and that the group can add several postdocs/research scientists. No deadline is given in the post.
