NYU Abu Dhabi’s Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI (CIDSAI) is recruiting a Post-doctoral Associate in Computational & Interactive Health. The project sits at the intersection of computer science, medical science, public health, statistics, and linguistics, with a strong emphasis on machine learning, artificial intelligence, Arabic knowledge models, large language models, and multimodal multilingual interfaces.

The postdoc will work under the supervision of Dr. Farah Shamout and Dr. Hanan Salam, in close collaboration with Prof. Nizar Habash. The research agenda includes: developing robust computational methods for health decision-making based on clinical use cases; building a health-focused Arabic interactive language model using benchmark datasets, evaluation frameworks, specialized LLMs, and AI agents; and designing interactive multimodal natural interfaces for multilingual health applications.

Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, DDS, or equivalent advanced/terminal degree from a recognized institution and have no more than five years since degree completion. The ideal candidate will have strong ML/AI skills and a clear interest in multidisciplinary research at the computing-healthcare interface. The appointment is for 2 years, renewable based on performance, with a maximum total duration of 5 years. Compensation is highly competitive and includes salary above international postdoctoral rates, generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children, full health insurance, and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax.
