University of Windsor’s eMinds Research Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is recruiting for one postdoctoral fellow and two PhD positions in MEMS, sensors, transducers, and electronic nose systems.

The postdoctoral role focuses on micromachined sensors and transducers, including design, fabrication, characterization, testing, analytical and numerical modeling, signal processing, and collaboration on a multidisciplinary project aimed at high-performance electronic nose systems.

The PhD openings are in micro and nano devices and sensors, with work spanning MEMS-based sensors, electronic nose systems, chemical sensors, microfabricated transducers, sensor design, physics-based modeling, finite element analysis, and lab-based development.

Eligibility highlights: Postdoc applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Engineering, or a related field, with strong MEMS development experience. PhD applicants should have a background in Electrical Engineering, Microsystems, or a closely related field; a research-based Master’s degree in Electrical or Microsystems or a relevant field is required for admission. Experience with PCB design, Chemistry, or Materials Science is considered highly desirable.

Funding: The PhD positions are described as a studentship starting in Fall 2026 or Winter 2027, but no stipend amount or tuition coverage is stated. The postdoctoral appointment is for one year initially, with possible extension based on performance.
