Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity in geomorphology, LiDAR-based change detection, digital elevation models (DEM), and broader Earth and Planetary Sciences at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

The project is a USGS-funded collaboration involving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin, and the U.S. Geological Survey. The research focus is to detect geomorphic changes in the lower Rio Grande Valley using airborne LiDAR. The postdoctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Tian Y. Dong and collaborate with Tim Goudge, Joel Sankey, and David Dean.

Preferred experience includes LiDAR-based change detection, DEM derivation, numerical modeling (hydrodynamic, morphodynamic, and landscape evolution models), geomorphological and hydrological field surveys, and use of echosounders and ADCPs.
