The position focuses on neural signal processing for consciousness and epilepsy, with research centered on intracranial EEG, signal processing, and machine learning applied to neural and other time-series data.

The lab is seeking a PhD-level engineer with training in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or neuroengineering. Strong experience in data analysis, reproducible methods, and working with complex datasets is emphasized. The post is designed for an independent, curious researcher who can quickly contribute to analysis of a substantial intracranial dataset and help drive new discoveries.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Birmingham, Alabama. The appointment is initially for 1-2 years with annual renewal based on performance and funding availability, and the post may extend up to about 4 years. The lab notes strong potential for multiple first-author publications on a relatively fast timeline.
