About this position

CSIRO, in collaboration with leading Australian universities and industry partners, is offering a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Digital Soil Health Benchmarking. This exciting opportunity is ideal for early career researchers (ECRs) with expertise in soil science, biogeochemistry, agronomy, and data-driven research. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing a Soil Health Framework for Australia, focusing on soil health indicators, benchmarking, and the agronomic drivers of soil health.

The project is funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation and led by CSIRO, with key partnerships including the University of Sydney, The University of Western Australia, Department of Primary Industries and Regions, Viridis Ag, and Eurofins APAL. The research aims to drive innovation in soil health, carbon, and nitrogen cycling, contributing to sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship.

Supervision will be provided by Dr Uta Stockmann and Dr Stirling Roberton, both based at CSIRO. The position is open to international candidates, and those with experience in soil health benchmarking and soil health indicators are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field and possess strong analytical and communication skills.

For more information and to apply, candidates should visit the official CSIRO job posting. This is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a national initiative in soil health and environmental science.
