Postdoctoral Fellowships in Data Science and Computing for the Environment (EcoSustain Project) Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil

FAPESP-funded postdoctoral fellowships are open within the EcoSustain Project – Data Science and Computing for the Environment, an interdisciplinary initiative focused on AI, data science, software platforms, IoT, distributed systems, middleware, and environmental monitoring for ecosystem conservation in the Amazon and Cerrado biomes.

The call offers 3 postdoctoral positions linked to specific funded work plans across Brazilian host institutions, including UFRN/UFMA, UFPA/UFG, and UFRJ/UFMS. Research topics include architecture-based platforms for environmental monitoring, middleware for intelligent and distributed IoT in remote environments, and smart data compression and federated learning for environmental sensing.

Applicants should have a PhD obtained after 2020 and a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Relevant experience in distributed systems, IoT, AI/ML, middleware, or data-driven systems is preferred. The opportunity is strictly tied to the defined research plans, so applications outside the scope will not be considered.

Funding includes a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship with a monthly tax-free stipend of R$ 12,570, plus research funds and relocation support if applicable. The fellowship duration is 12 months, renewable.
