About this position

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research – Centre for Applicable Mathematics (TIFR-CAM), Bengaluru, is inviting applications for postdoctoral fellowships in mathematics. TIFR-CAM is a premier research institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, known for its vibrant academic environment and active research collaborations. The postdoctoral positions are open to strong research candidates in all areas of mathematics, including but not limited to deterministic and stochastic analysis, geometry, probability, partial differential equations, numerical methods, scientific computing, and ergodic theory.

Successful candidates are expected to actively collaborate with CAM faculty, participate in academic discussions and seminars, and undertake teaching assistant duties for one semester per year. Applicants must have a PhD in mathematics or have submitted their thesis; those awaiting their defense may be considered for a temporary 6-month Research Associate position. The initial tenure is 1 year, extendable up to 3 years based on performance.

The fellowship offers a competitive salary and benefits as per TIFR norms, including House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical, and contingency grants. The positions are fully funded and provide an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers to advance their academic careers in a stimulating environment.
