About this position
MultiObs at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) is offering 8 postdoctoral fellowship opportunities in the broad area of science, technology and innovation (STI) studies. The project is led by Rodrigo Costas Comesaña and is funded by FAPESP’s São Paulo Excellence Chair (SPEC) program. The call is aligned with the UNESCO Chair on Diversity and Inclusion in Global Science and focuses on building inclusive and pluralistic approaches to monitoring and evaluating science.
The available positions span several research workplans, including Living Lab, Data Infrastructure, Diversity and inclusion and funding dynamics, Technology & Innovation and regional STI dynamics, and STI diplomacy and science-policy dynamics. The postdocs will work on topics such as epistemic diversity, inequities in Brazilian research, funding dynamics, participatory and co-creation methods, STI indicators, open data, data infrastructure, scientometrics, and science-policy analysis.
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field. Depending on the workplan, preferred backgrounds include communication, information science, sociology of science, science policy, computer science, engineering, statistics applied to social studies, econometrics, or related disciplines. Strong analytical skills are required, and excellent English communication is expected. The thesis must have been defended no more than seven years before the application date.
The fellowship duration is two years, with a possible one-year extension. Funding is provided through FAPESP and includes a monthly stipend plus a research contingency fund/technical reserve. Fellows must carry out their work from São Paulo State, Brazil. The project may also support supplementary funding applications for research stays abroad.
The application deadline is 20 June 2026. Candidates should review the workplans carefully, select up to two that fit their profile, prepare a cover letter and FAPESP-style Curricular Summary, and arrange for two reference letters to be sent by referees to the project email address.
