Postdoctoral Opportunity in Molecular Biology and Cancer Research at UNIFESP (mTOR, NRF2, CRISPR) Universidade Federal de São Paulo in Brazil

The Laboratory of Applied Molecular Signaling (LabSIMA) at the Institute of Pharmacology and Molecular Biology, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), is offering a postdoctoral position in molecular biology with a focus on cancer research. This opportunity is part of the FAPESP-funded Thematic Project titled "Divergent and convergent pathways related to mTOR signaling in cancer: from the control of cellular metabolism to therapeutic opportunities." The research will explore the interplay between NRF2, mTOR, autophagy, and ferroptosis pathways in lung cancer and cisplatin chemoresistance, employing advanced techniques such as CRISPR libraries, prime-editing, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) analyses. The project aims to identify new target proteins related to ferroptosis and leverage gene editing for precision oncology.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in CRISPR, cell culture, animal experimentation, and NGS analysis. Applicants should hold a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field. The position is open to both Brazilian and international candidates, and the selected fellow will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship with a monthly stipend of R$ 12,570.00, plus a technical reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship for research-related expenses. Relocation assistance may be available for those moving from outside São Paulo.

The research will be conducted at LabSIMA, located at Rua Três de Maio, 100, São Paulo. The project is supervised by Principal Investigator Fernando Moreira Simabuco.
