About this position

The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw, a leading center for chemical sciences in Poland and recognized internationally, is offering a postdoctoral position within the ERC-funded project "Chirality-sensitive Nuclear Magnetoelectric Resonance." This project, led by dr hab. Piotr Garbacz, prof. ucz., aims to advance research in nuclear magnetoelectric resonance with a focus on chirality, combining expertise in physical chemistry and electronic engineering. The position is based in the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Laboratory and is funded through the European Research Council under Horizon Europe.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment, contributing to cutting-edge investigations involving electronic systems, radio frequency technology, microwave resonators, and advanced laboratory instrumentation. The role requires a Ph.D. in natural sciences or engineering (or a Ph.D. student with an open dissertation procedure), with strong skills in designing, building, and using electronic systems. Experience with radio frequencies, high voltage, cryogenic temperatures, lasers, and microwave resonators is highly desirable. A good command of English is essential, and candidates must meet the legal requirements for academic employment in Poland.

The position offers a temporary full-time contract for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The monthly remuneration ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 PLN gross-gross. The University of Warsaw provides a supportive environment for professional development, and during employment, candidates may not draw remuneration from another employer under a contract of employment, including those based outside Poland.

Applicants should submit a scientific CV, a plan for further research activities, and a list of publications and achievements (each document max. 1 page) to [email protected]. The selection process includes an interview for shortlisted candidates, with results communicated by email by 30 April 2026. The University of Warsaw adheres to open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment policies, and encourages applications from individuals of all genders and those with accessibility needs.

For more information about the project, visit the project page. Additional job details are available at the Faculty of Chemistry website. The application deadline is 10 April 2026, and the planned start date is 1 June 2026.
