Postdoctoral Position in Computational Modeling of Fracture Propagation and Multiphysics in Geomaterials at KAUST King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is advertising a postdoctoral position in the Interface & Poromechanics Lab, led by Dr. Maryam Alghannam (Assistant Professor of Earth Science and Mechanical Engineering).

The project focuses on computational modeling of fracture propagation and multiphysics processes in geomaterials, with an emphasis on phase-field modeling, finite element methods, and scientific computing. The work will involve tools and workflows such as FEniCS, COMSOL, Python, and C++, and is positioned at the intersection of computational mechanics, continuum mechanics, fracture mechanics, and Earth/materials-related applications.

The postdoctoral researcher will develop phase-field and finite element models and work closely with experimental efforts at KAUST. The post is described as highly interdisciplinary and international, with access to world-class computational and experimental facilities.
