About this position

EEAD-CSIC in Zaragoza, Spain is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher funded by the MaX CSIC project. The position is designed for an independent and collaborative scientist working at the intersection of plant genomics, computational biology, agriculture, and environmental science.

The successful candidate will contribute to one or more of three research directions: resilient agroecosystems (crop improvement, genotype-environment-microbiome interactions, climate stress adaptation, and sustainable production), data-driven agricultural and environmental monitoring (AI, machine learning, remote sensing, soil health, biodiversity, and predictive/precision agriculture), and Climate-Ready Innovation Labs (CRILs) (environmentally responsible agricultural systems that reduce chemical dependency and optimize resource use).

Eligibility includes a PhD in plant science, agronomy, computational biology, environmental science, or a related field, along with a strong publication record for career stage, interdisciplinary research ability, excellent communication skills, and motivation to work in a collaborative environment.

The appointment is a full-time, two-year postdoctoral contract with a gross salary of 3,350 € per month. The role also provides access to metabolomics, genomics, and phenotyping platforms, an experimental field, and data science/remote-sensing infrastructure. The institute also notes support for training and for future applications to Marie Curie, Juan de la Cierva, Araid, and Ramón y Cajal calls.

To apply, candidates should email a CV with publications, a cover letter describing research interests and fit, and contact details for two references to [email protected]. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
