Postdoctoral Position in Virus-Induced Host Cell Response (AdenoHost Project) – Virology, Cell Biology, Omics Ruđer Bošković Institute in Croatia

The Ruđer Bošković Institute, in collaboration with the University of Zagreb, is offering an 18-month postdoctoral position in the AdenoHost project, focusing on the comprehensive analysis of host cell response to human adenovirus type 26 infection. The project aims to address critical gaps in the regulatory landscape of host response and signalling, with a specific focus on αvβ3 integrin usage as a viral receptor. Research activities will include transcriptomic profiling, proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses, and comparative studies of mock versus human adenovirus type 26–infected epithelial cells with enhanced αvβ3 integrin expression.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, or a related field. Experience with cell culture and viral infection models is advantageous, as is an interest or experience in omics approaches such as RNA-seq, proteomics, and phosphoproteomics. Bioinformatics skills or a strong motivation to learn them are required. The successful applicant will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment, gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art omics technologies and opportunities for high-impact publications. The position offers close mentorship and the chance to contribute to a scientifically and translationally relevant project.
