Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) is inviting applications for two postdoctoral positions in Organization Studies at the Institute of Organization Science. The research focus includes organization theory, business and society, business and politics, and qualitative research methods. The institute emphasizes interdisciplinary research and teaching in areas such as organizing for creativity and innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability and social change. The new postdoctoral assistants will join a dynamic team led by Prof. Florian Überbacher, who will become the new head of the Institute in spring 2026, and will work closely with Prof. Robert Bauer.
Key responsibilities include conducting new research projects, publishing in leading international journals, developing and teaching university courses in Organization Studies (in English), involvement in third-party funding applications, supervising students and doctoral candidates, and contributing to the development and outreach activities of the Institute. The position is open to candidates with a Doctorate/Ph.D. in business administration, sociology, or political science. Applicants should have a strong command of English (C1 level), a proven publication record in organization and management studies, and research interests aligned with the institute’s key areas. Experience with macro-organizational theories and research at the intersection of business and society or business and politics is expected. Preference will be given to those with experience or interest in the oil and gas or semiconductor industries and their geopolitical contexts. Candidates should have comprehensive experience in inductive, qualitative social research, be internationally oriented, and able to work independently and reliably.

The full-time contract is for up to six years, with a minimum gross monthly salary of €4,932.90 (paid 14 times per year) according to the collective agreement.
