About this position

The Department of Economics at Princeton University invites applications for one or more Postdoctoral Research Associate positions, or more senior research roles, in Public Economics. The appointment is set to begin in September 2026 for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding. The position offers an outstanding opportunity for independent research and collaboration with Princeton faculty and graduate students.

Postdoctoral Research Associates may also participate in the teaching program if mutually agreed upon and with the approval of the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. The successful candidate is expected to engage actively in the intellectual life of Princeton University.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field by the start date. The program is open to all, regardless of citizenship, but does not support work towards the completion of a degree. The primary selection criteria are the quality of the applicant's research and their interest or experience in public economics.

The position is in-person, based on the Princeton University campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The expected salary range is $145,000, and the university offers a comprehensive benefits program to eligible employees. Applicants must apply online and submit a cover letter, CV, statement of research, one or at most two research papers, and contact information for three references.

Applications will be reviewed beginning December 2025 and will be accepted until the position is filled. The position is subject to the university's background check policy. For more information, applicants may contact [email protected]. Princeton University is a world-renowned research institution committed to excellence in teaching and research across the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
