University of Surrey is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Generative Semantic and Token Communication Technologies for Future Wireless Networks at the 6G Innovation Centre (6GIC) / Institute for Communication Systems (ICS).

This is an 18-month industry-funded research position, fixed term up to September 2027. The project focuses on wireless communications, semantic communications, token communications, generative AI, and multimodal large language models, with work continuing the group’s recent TokenCom research line.

Applicants should hold a good honours PhD in wireless communications or AI/computer vision, and should have a strong publication record. Experience with the design and training of state-of-the-art generative models such as diffusion models and MLLMs is specifically mentioned, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, proactive, and collaborative skills.
