About this position
University of Oxford’s Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Quantitative Political Science for the Voter ID Project.
The project examines the effects of mandatory photo ID on voter behaviour and attitudes in the UK, combining original surveys with embedded experiments and historical analysis of voter ID introductions in Northern Ireland and the English voter ID trials.
The successful candidate will work with Prof Petra Schleiter (PI) and co-investigators Prof Margit Tavits and Prof Jonathan Homola. The role involves designing a survey experiment, coding and testing survey instruments, monitoring data collection with a survey firm, conducting data-quality checks, and developing research methods suited to the data.
Applicants should hold or be close to completion of a doctorate in political science or a related field, and should have experience in survey experiments, survey design, survey data analysis, advanced quantitative methods, research design, and R.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 12 months, starting 1 September 2026. Salary is £39,424–£43,984 per annum.
