The Parker Lab at the University of Michigan, led by Professor Steve Parker, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead projects at the intersection of single-cell/nucleus multi-omics and statistical genetics. The lab is part of the Departments of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, Human Genetics, and Biostatistics. Research focuses on analyzing high-throughput single-cell/nucleus multi-omic data (snATAC-seq and snRNA-seq) from metabolic tissues such as pancreas and skeletal muscle, with an emphasis on eQTL/caQTL analysis and GWAS integration. The lab's major goal is to generate mechanistic knowledge about how disease susceptibility is encoded in the non-coding genome, particularly for metabolic traits and type 2 diabetes.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong molecular biology and computational skills, and a record of scholarly productivity. The position requires proficiency in programming, ideally in a high-performance computing environment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will analyze data generated within the group and by collaborators, lead cell/context-specific QTL scans, and integrate findings with GWAS signals. The role also involves training new trainees and contributing to the lab's interdisciplinary research environment.
